Best Coffee Shop in Chandler, Arizona
I was recently invited to have coffee at Kind Bean in Chandler. When I walked in, I did not initially realize that this was a vegetarian restaurant. I was greeted by (as I found out later) the owner, Clay. He saw me come in and immediately asked if I had been here before and what I would like to order. He then let me know that the food is all planted-based which I was very excited about because the food looked amazing. I immediately ordered a cinnamon roll and a coffee. Clay also let me know that Kind Bean had a loyalty program for future store credits. Clay gave…

Vegan Teppanyaki and Sushi
Victor recently had the idea that we should go eat teppanyaki. We used to go regularly but haven’t been in the last 18 months since we’ve become vegan. We decided to go to Osaka for lunch. When we arrived, we sat at a table with another family. Note: We forgot about this part. The other family we ate with did it meat. If you are uncomfortable with meat being cooked in front of you, this is not the place for you. We were able to place our order and explained what we needed with vegan accommodations. This is how we ordered: Sushi: avocado roll, asparagus roll, and Pokémon roll. The…

10 Must Haves for an Airplane with Kids
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. I do use and love these items mentioned below! Since we fly often, we are experts at plane travel with kids, how to entertain them and what to bring. (That’s not to say that we haven’t had a meltdown here and there, but overall the kids know how to behave throughout the trip.) Here are the 10 things we always bring with us on a trip! 5 Great Things for the Kids to Bring 1-Backpack: I really like the Fox Toddler Backpack because it is small enough for the kids to carry, but big enough to hold the items they need. I…

Breakfast and Lunch in Flagstaff: Our Review of Morning Glory Cafe and Pizza Patio
On Sunday morning, the kids and I headed to Flagstaff for a day trip. I had to take the opportunity to try some new vegan food and we were not disappointed. We arrived at Morning Glory Café at 10am and we so excited for a delicious breakfast. This is a smaller café with about 6 tables. The kids chose a booth to sit as I ordered up front. Sienna ordered a burrito, Ethan ate pancakes, and I tried the French toast. They were out of kombucha, which was sad for me, but we all had juice instead. The food was made fresh after we ordered. It felt like a bit…

Our Visit to the Clouds: Snowbowl, Flagstaff, Arizona
It’s Sunday, Victor is out of town, and the kids and I are itching to do something. I asked them if they wanted to go on an adventure and of course they said, “Yes!” At 7:00am, we decided to head up to Flagstaff. We fed the chickens and made sure the cats and dog were settled. We grabbed our jackets and a change of clothes. Forecast in Flagstaff is 78 degrees, this is sweater weather for us since we are leaving 105 degree weather. We left the house at 7:42am and started off. It’s a 2.5 hour drive to Flagstaff from our area of Mesa. If you happen to be…

24 Carrots in Tempe, AZ
Over the summer, the kids and I discovered 24 Carrots. I say discovered… because it’s been there since 2008, but we’ve never been there. The restaurant is on the corner of McClintock and Guadalupe in Tempe. They have an adorable garden outside which gives it a great vibe. When we walked in, they had a little corner with couches, books, and a few kids’ toys. The kids were able to play there for a bit while we were waiting for our food. I loved the variety of food on the menu from raw, to gluten free, to kids’ options. Sienna ordered mac and cheese (of course!) with a side…

Arizona Grand Resort: Best Staycation in Tempe
Victor hosted a reward trip for his work at the Arizona Grand Resort in Tempe. He was going to stay the night at the Resort, so the kids and I decided to tag along. We could play while he worked! First, how did I not know about this resort?! It’s only 20 minutes from my house and I’ve heard people discussing it as a staycation destination, but I did not truly know what it was until it was there. The resort is amazing! It has a 7-acre private water park, 18-hole golf course, spa and salon, multiple on-site restaurants, pools, and is gorgeous. When we arrived, the kids were so…

Vegan Food in LEGOLAND and Carlsbad
We were able to find plenty of delicious food at LEGOLAND Park, in the hotel, and around Carlsbad. LEGOLAND Park LEGOLAND Park had plenty of vegan options for us. I was most excited to discover that the Apple Fries sold at Granny’s Apple Fries are vegan (just request no whipped cream). They were SO delicious! For a snack, we also had popcorn. While we were checking out the food at Fun Town’s Urban Kitchen, we had a kid theme park, meltdown, so we had to leave. Before we left, I did find a pasta dish that looked promising. The kids’ meals (unfortunately for us) were not vegan though. LEGOLAND Water…

Why We Love LEGOLAND and the Water Park
While at LEGOLAND we visited the theme park and the water park were very happy with our experience there. First of all, LEGOLAND is not huge. While there are plenty of rides and it’s not crowded, it was also easy to walk from one side of the park to the other. Also, we were very excited to discover that Ethan could do all of the rides at 47 inches and Sienna could do most rides (except a few rides in the Imagination Zone). We went to Legoland without a plan. We decided to just walk in and figure it out from there. We downloaded the app used it to find…

Kid Fun at Legoland Hotel
We went to LEGOLAND before the kids started school. It was so much fun! We loved everything and Ethan and Sienna were the perfect age for this trip! We wanted to get the most out of our 3 days in LEGOLAND, so we flew in on Sunday and stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott San Diego/Carlsbad. The hotel was a nice size, we ate the buffet breakfast in the morning, and then we headed straight to LEGOLAND. What’s not to love about this kid themed hotel?! From the Lego dragon at the entrance to the play area in the lobby, this is the hotel to stay at when going to…
